Jack G. Peterson, National Project Manager for the BLM and Forest Service Geothermal Initiatives
Jack G. Peterson is directing the start-up the Joint West Wide Geothermal Programmatic EIS for the US Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management and US Department of Agriculture, Forest Service -- with support from the US Geological Survey, US Department of Energy, and several western states. This high-priority renewable energy initiative includes assessing geothermal resources on Federal Public Lands and National Forest Lands in eleven western states and Alaska -- and eliminating backlogged leases on federal lands that existed upon passage of the Energy Policy Act of 2005.
Jack has 30 years of industry and government experience -- starting-up, managing, and trouble-shooting, renewable energy, water resources, mining, minerals processing, chemical, and environmental compliance projects and policies. He has advanced graduate education and training in economics, finance and the physical sciences. He is a frequent speaker and a published writer.
