State Summary:

In 2006, a power plant was installed at the Chena Hot Springs Resort 60 miles north of Fairbanks.  More small power units are expected to be installed at the site that will provide power and heat for the entire resort that serves 70,000 visitors each year. As of August 2008, 53 – 100 MW of geothermal energy were under some form of development in the state.
