The Chena project has attracted world-wide attention and won two awards last year –a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Energy 2006 National Green Power Award for on-site generation and Power Engineering magazine named it Renewable/Sustainable Energy Project of the Year. The project was made possible through a partnership between UTC Power, Chena Hot Springs Resort, the U.S. Department of Energy, Alaska Energy Authority, Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority and the Denali Commission. The revolutionary low temperature technology was developed by UTC Power.
