Unique Information about the NCPA Geothermal Project: NCPA received two grant awards from the California Energy Commission as follows: - $316,642 to develop an integrated geothermal systems simulator that optimizes a geothermal project from the system level including the geothermal reservoir, the - $669,334 to develop a down-hold generator that would operate in a geothermal injection well and be powered by the falling water within the well. Generator capacity in the 0.5 to 1 mw range. NCPA is planning to drill a second near horizontal injection well. The first horizontal injection well has been found to enhance the recovery of injection derived steam, while also controlling the frequency and magnitude of geothermal operations related seismic events.
