Ormat, through subsidiaries, owns and operates all Steamboat facilities. Through a US DOE grant, well field and well pump operations have improved by replacing a line shaft pump with a central-lift submersible pump and motor. Three of the nine production wells have been converted to the more efficient submersibles.

In 2006, an additional 5 MW were brought online at Steamboat Springs.
